Outdoor Weddings

Outdoor weddings are beautiful, and I should say I really enjoy doing them. But they can be very unpredictable. It could rain, it could snow, or a jogger may swish through the ceremony, as happened to us out at Point Defiance park, in Tacoma a few years ago. It was so fast it was over before we knew what happened, even. This guy was out for his regular jog, probably, and comes around the corner, and here we are, right in the middle of the wedding ceremony. At least he didn't run into anyone, but it was close!

From a video point of view, out side weddings bring up some other interesting issues, like WIND. I like wind, it makes the dress flutter, and the veil will puff and float in a very interesting way. Or it may stand straight out like a wind sock, which looks kind of cool! Its less fun when you're wondering if that dress will catch air like a parachute!

I just did an awesome wedding this last weekend (Jan 28, 2006) up at The Wedding Haus in Leavenworth, WA...
www.theweddinghaus.com , I'll be posting pics from the video on my website here: Deniz & Juleen . Anyway, it had snowed the day before, we did the wedding outside, it was just beautiful. Only problem is that it got warm, and all that wonderful snow was turning into slush, and dripping from the trees... onto us. And, just to make it interesting, the cars driving by were making a lot of noise as they went through the slush. So, the video picked up some extra "ambiance".

Speaking of the Wind-sock effect, the preacher on this day called wind the "breath of God"... Heavy Breathing!

You'll get birds... you'll get bees... and probably ants. Isn't Nature Wonderful?
But I really do enjoy out door weddings! Just be aware, you may have issues to deal with!
